In honour of Emirati Women’s Day, Deliveroo is spotlighting the inspiring journeys behind homegrown restaurants brought to life by Emirati women. These are women whose ideas, roots, and ambition continue to shape the UAE’s food culture. From cosy cafés to cult favourites, every concept reflects the unique journey of its founder, one shaped by courage, creativity, and a deep connection to UAE’s culture.
SALT: From a Beachside Trailer to a Citywide Movement When Amal Al Marri and Deem Albassam launched SALT in 2014, it didn’t arrive with a grand announcement. Instead, it began with a riddle on Instagram and an Airstream trailer parked quietly along Kite Beach. The concept was simple: serve quality sliders in a setting that encouraged people to gather, connect, and enjoy the moment. The response was immediate and electric. SALT quickly grew into one of the UAE’s most recognisable homegrown brands known not just for its food, but for its sense of community.
Masraana: Coffee Rooted in Ritual and Remembrance For Tasnim AlGergawi, coffee has always been more than a beverage. It is a quiet ritual, a link to memory, and a symbol of shared heritage. Together with her husband Khalid Dweik, she co-founded Masraana in early 2025, which translates to ‘evening stroll’ and honours the couple’s journey with coffee making, its slow rituals, and sense of community at the heart of every cup. Their drinks reflect a deep connection to Arab culture, with flavour combinations like za’atar latte, rose and sage infusions, and their signature Sleepless Night blend. Whether served from their coffee truck at Alserkal Avenue or ordered for delivery, Masraana brings something refreshing to the table.
She Burger: A Brand That Grew From Boldness When Sheikha Al Eissa began experimenting with burgers in her kitchen, she was simply following a passion. But what started as casual orders from friends soon turned into a brand that would reshape the local burger scene. She Burger is known for its creative menu, unapologetic branding, and flavours that strike the perfect balance between comfort and edge. With locations across Dubai and the region, She Burger stands as a celebration of confidence and a reminder that great ideas don’t need to follow the rules. Love Vibe Café: A Space Where Food and Feelings Collide Created by Noora Saeed, Love Vibe Café is equal parts mood and meal. It’s where mocktails come with names like “Kermit Business,” where chairs are the colour of cotton candy, and where guests feel as if they’ve stepped into a world built entirely around good energy. But beneath the pastel palette is a founder with purpose. With roots in the original VIBE Café concept, Noora’s vision was to create a place where food feels fun, thoughtful, and always uplifting. With branches in DIFC and Khalifa City, Love Vibe continues to welcome people in, one pun-filled plate and powerfully pink seat at a time. Fifth Flavour: Where Curiosity Becomes Cuisine Founded by sisters Aisha and Noor Alabbasi, Fifth Flavour begins behind a refrigerator door in a faux convenience store, leading diners into a space that feels both intimate and unexpected. Inspired by the spirit of Southeast Asian street food and reimagined through an Emirati lens, the menu features bold and playful dishes like kimchi labneh, laksa with coconut chilli broth, and chocolate mousse with black garlic ice cream. Every detail, from iced tea served in a plastic bag to handcrafted fish-shaped chopstick holders, tells a story of design, creativity, and joy. Other restaurants available on Deliveroo that are proudly led by Emirati women include Home Bakery, Voya Bakehouse, Cocoville, Asma, Mitts & Trays, and Soil. Each of these concepts carries its own voice and vision, shaped by personal experience, creative spirit, and an unwavering commitment to quality. This Emirati Women’s Day, every order from these restaurants on Deliveroo serves as a reminder that the most meaningful meals are not just made with skill, they are made with intent, drive, and a whole lot of heart.
